I do this DVD about once a week as a variety to the other two DVD's by Michelle Bridges, that I am doing alternate days.

So basically while I travel, I do my cardio DVD exercises and my strength training DVD exercises alternate days then on one day I will do an extra exercise session, usually this one, I mix these up with swimming and running and this gives me a full body work out.  I have seen a lot of strength increase in the last three months and I am planning my winter workouts now using these DVD's as a big part of the program

It has been part of my spring cleaning (in autumn ;-)) of the caravan today, to make it as spacious as posible so I can work with the aid of these DVD's and focus on my strengthening my stomack muscles over the next 12 weeks.

Michelle Bridges,
Crunch Time Super Shredder Circuit.

Are you someone who gets bored easily? I have the answer. This type of training is my specialty and this DVD is just like a real personal training session with yours truly. I do this style of training at least twice a week and it kicks my butt. In saying that, I know that my mum can do this work out too, it is for everyone as I have covered every option. There are 5 circuits, each one goes for 5 minutes, so once youve done the warm up you can do all 5 or just 2, depending on your time. The more you do though, the better the results. You will work muscles you never thought you had and yet because of my methods of balancing the perfect workout, you will be surprised at how you can last the distance and do far more than you thought!

Well here I am in paradise, or it feels like it, at Flying Fish Point, and I am feeling so ‘laid back’ in relaxed holiday mood I do not feel like performing any exercise more strenuous than rubbing fake tanning lotion on my legs.  This will never do, lol.  Even my urge to write has slid as the outdoors is so beautiful, I am happy to take the photos but they are lining up in my computer and I’ve not made the time to edit them.

I guess a couple of quieter exercise days is acceptable, as long as I don't slide back to sedentary, where I came from, again.  I'll have my next 12 week training program in place before the end of the week.
This is going to be a good planning week, lots of head work being done, lots I hope to share here. I enjoy your feedback. Thanks for being interested.

I have to laugh at ‘quieter days’. as I did run for one and a half kilometres on soft hard to run through sand, carry grocery bags (weights), a kilometre to the car as I park the car well away from the shopping centre to deliberately get this carry the shopping exercise and I did swim my 800 meters.  I must be getting addicted to my regular exercise because that felt like a ‘day off’, and an under performance of what I now am able to do. I felt like I was lolling around being lazy, a lot of the time and just enjoying tranquillity.  I do not take a lot of idle time, and I’ve enjoyed this for the last couple of days since arriving here at Flying Fish Point.

I have been working on putting forums into all my blog websites, so there has been some ‘work’, going in behind the scenes.

I find it is often out of these relaxed holiday style days that I can put together good fresh goals for the future and this is whare I am at today, half way through the final week of the Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation and ready to take my new goals, action plans and to do list, into a new area where I am responsible, for my own training, for three months.

So yes I am ‘on track’, though no fantastic physical feats, no huge results so far this week, aside from a beautiful feeling of inner peace in my mind. J.  I am sure that must make me weigh a lot less.  lol, but right now, in this peaceful paradise, I have totally lost interest in what the bathroom scales say.

The
weather is glorious, the fridge has been restocked with fresh vegetables the fruit bowl is full, nuts, muesli, yogurt and skim milk powder are restocked and I bought Reg a fishing line so, lol fresh caught
whitting, or is it legumes or tinned salmon for dinner, my loved ones, the man and dog with me, the extended family just a phone call away. A choice of walking, running and swimming for outdoor exercise and all my art supplies here with me in this tropical garden. Did I say 'Paradise'

I felt inspired today after reading a post on the 12wbt forum. It was from a lady who was recounting how she could normally only manage to  run about 200 meters.  That too would have been my maximum and a distance I was proud of, less than 7 weeks ago.

Well today she decided she was going to run 400 meters and she pep talked herself into going the distance and ran this 400 meters in 3 minutes.  Now I cannot run 400 meters faster than that. I was very impressed with her improvement in fitness.

Then she added, ‘not bad for 91+ year old'.

Now I was INSPIRED, :-).

Now when I don’t want to be bothered, now when I feel that I’ve taken on more than I can manage, I will remember there is a 91 year old lady who joined the 12 week body transformation course to improve her body and realize I am young and capable of making the effort,

By the wayJ, I ran 5 kilometres yesterday for the first time ever,

I swam 800 meters today, another first time ever effort, J. Yes, I am pleasedJ.

I found this link today to ‘The Discomfort theory’. It is written by Craig Harper, the great motivatinal speaker. What he has to say, applies to what many of my friends and me are attempting to do now, improving ourselves. It is worth a read.

I am very pleased with my day. J, Family pleasure, together, healthy eating and great exercise.

OMG My lower legs, lol, I power walked/jogged 16,000 stops in soft sink into it sand this afternoon.

I had a wonderful time trying to keep up with a 12 year old, happy active granddaughter and Oh my, can I feel it in my calves tonight.

Driving to the next destination tomorrow, not sure, if that is good or bad with aching calves. lol. I had not realized I had done such a big work out until the after effects set in.

I saw some amazing sand castle sculpture and I shared in my blog ‘A Creative life, how these are made. I have seen others post about these sorts of highly skilled sand castle sculptures but this is the first time I have ever seen them before.  If I made such sculptures, I think I would be looking forterm life insurance quotes aren't that expensive due to the stress of fear of the fate of his creation.  I would hate to make something so labour intensive then leave it out to the fate of the weather and possible vandals

The 12 week body transformation is entering its the seventh week and I have been able to keep pace or at least modify the exercises to my ability, up until now, but suddenly the exercises are escalating. I feel it’s time for me to do my first ever attempt at aging gracefully as there is no way I intend to attempt a triathlon of a 5 kilometre run a 10 kilometre bike ride then an 800 meter swim, either back to back, nor with a huge rest in between.  I am going to be planning my own exercises from now on; I have gone as far as I can in that program as regards the fitness advancement at the rate the program is set for.

This is a painting I found last night, painted 7 months ago, then forgotten about until found last night. Being too obsessed with care for others is NOT healthy for us, and we cannot be there at our best for others, if we do not take care of our own, emotional and physical needs. This to be an essential unconditional, commitment all carers need to make to themselves. Observe what does not work and put in place corrections. We can care for other and ourselves.
I've been sooo busy and HAD to put others first…

Yes my hand is up.....I have been there for over a week.

Yes, it has been like that carer duties, full on, ever since I came back to home base for a 2-week stay.
Dementia care of a family member when they are unwell can be very full on and you need your energy to be awake day and night to prevent falls, I sleep so well when I exercise, I did not hear my husband get out of bed and the result was he had a nasty fall.  How is that for a new excuse, lol.   I have found the answer though, as I never considered quitting, just doing a baker’s dozen, 13 weeks to complete my 12 week program and I don't see the exercise as getting too hard and I just do what I can, while telling myself, I can do it, so I do more.

I am not proud that I have taken a week and a half out from the 12wbt program.

I do not believe in excuses.
Excuses is what made me size 22 going on 24 ~ in the past. Giving up 'excusitis', and replacing it with 'observation and correction', is what is getting me to goal weight.

I began to lose my excess weight when I gave up on excuses and changed to 'observations and corrections tool'.

I have instigated 'corrections', tomorrow night and for the next 5 months, from tomorrow night the bed will be against the wall on my husband side so he will have to climb over me to get out of bed and that will wake the carer/me, up so back to exercising more. :-).  Look this is a 'way of life', is how I look at it, so OK, I will not show good weight loss progress for now, but I will achieve my goal weight, it just might be 10 days later....So what?

If you slipped (I have), look at what you achieved, (in life), in that time and pat yourself on the back for what you did do well. That is what I do. I am not going to load my life with guilt trips and stop feeling good about myself because I haven't been a good model of excellence for the 12wbt program, this last week and a bit.

Apply an 'observation (what did not work) and corrections (how to make it work if that circumstance happens again), technique and that slide back could be the learning curve that makes your and my goal, an even more certain achievement.

Still running walking and climbing the weight off.
Every  year when Reg and I go on tour, I pack a set of scales and every year I end up dumping those scales in a rubbish bin after about three months of them having bounced up and down along the roads and I discover they have lost the ability to  weighs inconsistent. Not the scales fault, the once I have owned were just not made for caravan use. Is there such a set?
For example the scales weighing less when I weigh wearing clothing and more when I undress, enough proof to me that the touring lifestyle makes it very hard for a set of scales to remain accurate.  I have tried sets that rang in cost from $5. through to sets that cost almost $200. and all that I have tried, have failed the bounce around in the caravan test.

This year I have brought the Wii away with me and I do a weekly weigh in using the balance board and the Wii fit plus program.  Of course, I do not know yet if this is going to work, I am only five weeks in to the tour.

Last year when my scales broke on the tour, I said 'OK, that’s it, I will not weigh in any more I will just eat healthy and be active and leave it to my body to eventually achieve it’s ideal weight in its own time.'  So a few months later, when I arrived home and checked myself on scales in shops, I discovered I had gained a few kilos for the first time in years. That was when I acknowledged that I did need to keep an eye on the scales, not obsessively so, but to ensure I was on track to my goal of an ideal weight, for me and then maintain it.   So once more I am back doing a regular weigh in and I have got rid of that extra few kilo I had gained when I stopped weighing and am back on track, seeking my ideal weight again and this time I brought in some extra halp, I joined Michelle Bridges, 12 week body transformation and I have learned so much more than I ever knew before.
I know enough to make it through to goal this time, this year and I am keen to continue sharing my journey, here.

Reg and I returned to our starting point on our walks of the Grampians today, so Reg could complete the steep walk down to and back from the MacKenzies Falls.
Picture
When we arrived here just under two weeks ago, Reg stopped just short of the base of the falls and the view of the falls pool and cascade.

Since then he has completed walks that are more difficult so we know he would succeed this time.

It also gave me some great exercise, I sure burn calories climbing steep steps and walking uphill.

MacKenzies Falls

Start: MacKenzie Falls Carpark

Time: Approx. 1 hr return

Distance: 2 km return

Grade: Medium (Easy to Broken Falls) (elevation: 110m)

One of the most popular spots in the Grampians and Victoria's largest Waterfall. As the River is Horsham's Water supply, there is always a good flow of water over the falls. There is actually a series of waterfalls, with MacKenzie Falls being the largest.

Picture
A gentle stroll takes you to a viewing platform overlooking Broken Falls. A recently completed track enables you to more easily descend to the base of the spectacular MacKenzie Falls, where you can enjoy the cool atmosphere.

A great photographic opportunity.

On the way down Cranages Lookout enables you to appreciate the Mackenzie River Gorge. The return walk is quite strenuous - take it easy.

Picture
There was only one thing I have not enjoyed about the Grampians and that is the steep narrow winding roads, with numerous obstacles. Kangaroos are frequently on the road, and while the motorcycles are a common feature, whizzing past you, I actually appreciate their presence as I hope the noise of the bike ahead of me will scare the kangaroos of the road, before e I go around a corner and hit one. I wonder how a  motorcycle accident attorney, would go suing kangaroos for wandering in front of bikes the way they wander in front of cars. Do motorbikes; make sufficient, noise to warn them to get off the road?  The kangaroos sure do not seem concerned about our car and I have to give way to them every day.  I feel like I am speeding dangerously if I go over 40 kilometres an hour in these hills.  I will enjoy the open road again and feeling the conditions are better for safe driving..

Gym Equipment

1/Beehive Falls,

Track:  Moderate
Grade:  Moderate

I had a lunch of 20 mixed almonds and walnuts at the foot of the Beehive falls.

The rugged cliffs and craggy escarpments of the Grampians are dotted with many waterfalls, including the picturesque Beehive Falls that drop into a sheltered rocky valley.

This gently undulating track follows the meandering Mud Hut Creek upstream, through forest to a series of rock steps and on to the falls, surrounded by colourful cliffs. At Beehive Falls delicate ferns and mosses cling to the sheer rock walls as the cascade tumbles over huge boulders in its 25-metre drop. Large stones beside the rock pool at the base of the falls make a peaceful picnic spot. Return by the same route.

The walk is especially beautiful in spring, when water levels are high and the display of pink and white wildflowers spectacular.

2/ Gulgurn Manja Shelter

Track, Easy, slight grade

I used the water bottles as hand weights and worked out with them as I walked.

Gulgurn Manja means 'hands of young people'. The Gulgurn Manja Shelter displays small handprints in red ochre. Signage outlines some of the stories and legends of the Jardwadjali people and the mountains they call Gariwerd.
Mt Zero Road, Northern Grampians

3/Hollow Mountain

Track:  Moderate to Hard and  Steep Suits the fit and athletic.

Explore the breathtaking beauty of massive sandstone outcrops and eucalypt-covered slopes of the northern Grampians.

After leaving the picnic area, the track enters a densely vegetated gully and climbs through pleasant woodlands of banksias, eucalypts and native pines. From the base of an iron-stained sandstone cliff, climb between fallen boulders and along exposed ledges to a barren rocky outcrop.

A short uphill scramble completes the climb to the mountain’s wind-eroded caverns. From the upper end of the caves a natural rock window leads onto a ledge perched high above the huge amphitheatre where you can take in a breathtaking view of the forbidding cliffs of nearby Mount Stapylton before returning by the same route.

Picture
4/ Mt Zero.

Track:  Rocky and steep.

From the picnic area, carefully cross the Halls Gap - Mt Zero Road to the sign-posted walking track, track markers guide you up the rocky hillside. Near the top of the ridge the track becomes steeper –There was a narrow section between cliff walls that I found hard to squeeze through. I kept waiting for the promised hand rails to help navigate the steep parts and there they were, right at the end, after you had already made the climb to the summit. Views of Mt Stapylton and the surrounding Wimmera plains are some of the best in the area.

It was an exhilarating, full day, work out. J

Tonight I am far more interested in editing my photos of the fabulous walks Reg and I did today than checking out the emails I have about the best seo software.

I have such a back log of stories and photos I am wanting to blog about but I will only work for another two hours then I’ll be heading to bed early as I want to be up tomorrow and making a similar effort to the one Reg and I did today.  I doubt that I will ever tackle the Hollow Mountain and Mt Zero walks again; they were frankly hard going in parts but the views and the feeling of achievement made them so very worthwhile.
